Why Holistica

Holistica grew from a simple observation:

The way we live and the way we feel are deeply connected.

Not just through the big, obvious things, but through the quieter conditions of everyday life—the spaces we move through, the rhythms of our days, the habits we repeat, the expectations we carry, and the structures around us.

Sometimes those conditions support us.

Sometimes they don’t.

And when they don’t, the answer isn’t always to try harder.

Hi, I’m Kristen

My path to Holistica wasn’t exactly linear.

Over the years, I’ve worked across hospitality, healthcare, marketing, and interior design. Each field gave me a different way of understanding people, environments, and the experience of everyday life.

Interior design brought those perspectives together in an unexpected way.

I began noticing that a beautiful environment didn’t necessarily mean a person felt well inside it.

People could have homes they loved and lives that looked successful from the outside, while still feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, restless, or ungrounded.

Stress followed them home.

Habits followed them from room to room.

And the things they were trying to change weren’t always problems of motivation or discipline.

Sometimes, the conditions surrounding them simply weren’t supporting them.

That realization led me to health psychology—the study of how biological, psychological, and social factors interact to influence health and well-being.

It gave me a new way to understand something I’d already been observing through design:

The environment is part of the experience.

Our spaces influence us.

Our rhythms influence us.

Our structures influence us.

And the way we repeatedly move through those conditions becomes part of how we live.

Holistica grew from bringing those perspectives together.

A personal note

Outside of Holistica, you’ll usually find me spending time with my partner, our son, and our two pups; taking a spin or yoga class; eating all the spicy food; or watching the sunset at the beach.

My own design aesthetic leans minimalist with a warm, coastal sensibility—calm, lived-in spaces thoughtfully collected over time.

And yes, my favorite color is white.

I’ve always believed that a little breathing room can change everything.

Why this work matters

I don’t believe a well-designed life is one in which everything is optimized.

I believe it’s one in which the important parts work together.

A home that supports how you want to live.

Rhythms that leave room for what matters.

Structures that make life easier to navigate rather than harder.

Not a perfect life.

Just a life that feels like it fits.

That’s the kind of work I created Holistica to explore.
